President Arroyo on Thursday evening said she has no intention of quitting even as she asked her cabinet to resign ahead of a reshuffle.
"I'm not resigning my office," she said in a "very important announcement" to the nation broadcast from the presidential palace.
The President said if she resigns, the next administration will just suffer the same fate as her administration.
Mrs. Arroyo has been under mounting pressure to resign over allegations she cheated in last year's presidential election.
